I was born and partially raised in Billings, MT. My mother moved to
California when I was 4, so I moved back and forth from CA to MT most
of my life. My mother had me showing dogs as soon as I could walk! To
this day she still has me show her dogs!! When I wasn't playing dog
groomer/kennel girl I was out riding horses all day long!!
Scott and I met at work in 1993 and got married in August of 1996.
Scott was born and raised in Billings, Montana. He had hopes of
becoming a professional baseball player. He almost made it too,
until a tragic auto accident took that dream away. Now he is happy
working at Stillwater Community Hospital in Columbus as the
Maintenance man. He is always stopping in to say "hello" to the
local residents on the Assisted Living side of the hospital! They
always love to see Scott and constantly ask him to bring in his dogs!!! Before working for the hospital, Scott had his own lawn business.
Since marrying me he has discovered many things he never knew he could
do!!! He has learned how to pull a horse trailer with horses in it,
backing that up and pulling a travel trailer!! Now that we have
gotten into showing dogs together, his official titles are......
Show-Furr(chauffer), #1 pooper scooper and "here honey, hold this"!!!
Here is our home away from!! YES!! That is snow! We took this
picture of our set up the day after we bought the trailer. It had
snowed that night! Little did we know "the snow curse" that came with
it!! Our first time out with it to a dog show to Nebraska in March we
hit a HUGE snow storm through Wyoming. Anyone familiar with Wyoming
knows it can throw some mean snow storms!! Then in April coming back
from a show in Washington we got snow through Idaho and into Montana!
Then!!!...in June we went to Helena for a graduation party...yep..you
gussed it! It SNOWED in JUNE!!! Scott has since learned the hard
way about traveling in snow with a trailer, not that we could avoid
it!!
Here is Scott demonstrating his cooking skills in the trailer! This
is also another official duty of his while at dog shows!!
(or anywhere for that matter!!) I am not saying I don't cook, I just
don't cook!! (very big grin)!
In 1995 I entered the Big Sky State Games and came in First for my
age division for a Gold Medal! Since then Scott and I have done a
few bike treks together! One of them being a ride called "Moonlight
Ride Through The Park" An 80 mile ride through Yellowstone Park
starting at midnight! It was the funnest, hardest thing I have ever
done! I loved every minute of it!! It was Scott's 5th time, so he
knew what to expect!
Scott has two kids from his first marriage...Ian and Lauren.

Court Jester
AKA The J-Man, Jess, Jessie, Jester, "J", and the Big Guy

Jess at 17 years old!
|
Jester and I from the very beginning in 1987!!! The skinny little one I "was" and the wide eyed hot head he was!
|
J-Man has a distinctive birthmark or mismark on his left hindquarter.
|
|
Jester was foaled in 1983 and was destined to be a race horse. He
must not have done the right thing because I met him 1987!! For some
reason I was drawn to this huge 16.3 HH Thoroughbred, that was nothing
but a hot head the day I met him!!
I was actually supposed to become this lady's Junior Rider for Jumpers
(never took place) but she had this big guy for sale and my mother
(knowing what a horse fanatic I am and missing my horses in Montana)
bought him for me. This begins the most interesting horse story to
ever un-fold!!........
I was living in Sacramento, CA with my mother when we bought Jester, I
was 16 at the time. (I think she bought him for me mostly to keep my
mind off the boys!!) He proved to be just the thing I needed and he
needed me as well, although he never admitted it! I taught him that a
bit CAN be quietly dropped from his mouth and not ripped out. He
learned that carrots, apples, potato chips, pie (the list goes on
forever) really are good things to eat!! He taught me more about
patience than I think I ever needed to know!
"J" and I went to a couple of 4-H shows. I showed him as a
hunter/jumper and fun classes. He never really behaved but who can
blame him, the race track was within hearing and smelling distance.
Then in 1988, my mother went to live in Montana. I stayed in CA for
awhile and then unforseen circumstances forced me to sell Jester and
move back to Montana myself. I had a hard time trying to sell him in
CA, then out of the blue, as luck would have it,. My sister's friend
in Montana was interested in buying him!! So in June of 1989 he moved
to Missoula and I later went to Billings in August. I didn't see him
again until my mother and I went to a dog show in Missoula in June of
1990 and we got to visit him. She also let me ride him, I was so
excited!!
A few years later.....in 1997 we got a call... I was asked if I
would like to "have" him back! She didn't want him to go to anyone
she didn't know and knew he had to be with someone who knew and loved
his ways. I said "yes" and hurried to find a place to keep him and
he hs been with us ever since!!!
He really is a sweet horse, it just takes an experienced rider only
with him. Whenever around him on the ground he is the most gentleman
of horses I have ever known!!!
