Pritty - 1997
You were born at a puppymill on September 27,1997.
Little did we know you were an angel sent from heaven.
I met you at work where you boarded frequently.
Thanksgiving day Dad met you for the first time.
That same week your owner came to pick you up
and told us girls behind the counter that she needed our help
to find you a new home. I quickly volunteered and you came to live with us a few weeks later. A year later I entered you into your first agility trial.
but all you wanted to do was entertain the crowd and entertain you did as no one will ever forget that Montana Agility Afghan Hound! No qualifying legs after 17 trials but you taught me how to become a better handler and to be humble!
On a lovely August day we took you into see Dr.Sarah to have
blood work done because you were refusing to eat.
It showed you had acute renal failure, cause unknown.
You battled and won!!
For four weeks you bounced around the house, you played with the others,
you danced and you sang!!!
and then...
it happened...you were sick again.
You fought and we fought with you but your body refused to keep up.
You were born on September 27,1997
and today you asked us to send you back to heaven.

Pritty is our first Afghan Hound and a dog that we rescued in December
of 1998. She is the best pet we could ask for!
Her story is not as tragic as most rescues and goes a little like this....
I (Yvonne) was working at a boarding facility where Pritty often
visited. When the lady that owned Pritty came back from her
Thanksgiving vacation to pick Pritty up she had told the staff there
that she was thinking of finding her a new home, as she did not have
the time to spend with her anymore. Plus the lady's job situation
changed that made her work 7 days a week. Once I heard about this I
offered right away! I have always loved sighthounds, now I just
needed to talk Scott into loving them as well!! The lady said she
still needed a few weeks to think about it and make sure she wanted to
give Pritty up. That gave me time to talk with Scott! Scott only
needed one day to think about it and said "sure"!! Pritty was in our
home two weeks later!
Probably the worst time in Pritty's life was when she was born in a
filthy puppy mill, a terrible place that breeds many breeds of dogs
many, many times and all the dogs live in terrible conditions. She
then of course was sent to a pet shop (where all puppy mill dogs go).
After spending close to 4 months at the pet shop and her price
dropping by the month, this is when the lady saw her and bought her.
From that point on Pritty has lived the "Good Life"!!!
Pritty tried her paw in agility; however, in her 14 trials she was
entered in, she never got one qualifying score. Oh well..we still
love her!! So we have decided to retire her from agility and just let
her be the Princess she has always been. Her problem...well she was a
little slow! Kind of funny when you think about it...a slow
sighthound!! Doesn't seem like it should go together!
