With Stormy's Group placement it earned him a spot on the Best In Show & Group competition top 100 list, he made it to #86!!

If an Odyssey is..."any long series of wanderings, especially when filled with memoriable experiences and hardships", then Stormy certainly fits the bill!!

In July of 2001 we discovered that Stormy had Hip Dysplasia. He was doing a lot of strange hopping and skipping in the ring and at home. After we got excused from the ring at one show, the judge told us we should have his hips x-rayed and so we did. Only to discover the biggest heartbreak, that he had HD in his left hip. When we informed the breeders they were outraged and gave us the line, "NOT in my lines"! Just a warning for all you folks out there, when you hear a breeder say such a thing, stay away from them, it just means they really don't care about the breed. At the time when we informed them about his HD, they urged us to wait it out because they didn't want to believe that he had HD. Two months later he was not getting any better and we had him re-xrayed, in just two months time he had HD in the other hip. It was then we knew we had to find out what we could do for him. We found out about gold bead inserts, which was the best thing we could have ever done for him! To see him now, you would never know that he was ever in pain!
